Archmaraton 2018

Officine Tamborrino and Scaffystem take part in the ARCHMARATHON AWARDS 2018,the international architecture award designed by Publicomm, will be back from 11 to 13 October 2018, and this year it will be hosted in the magnificent setting of Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan

From 11 to 13 October 2018 the great world architecture is meeting in Milan in an unmissable event for the operators of the project world.

The first day, 11 October, will be in camera and dedicated to the b2b between international studies and sponsors.

On the 12th and 13th, on the other hand, we will enter into the heart of the event with a very close succession of interventions and a truly international atmosphere.

This edition, the third in the worlwide and fifth version including the editions of Beirut (2015) and Miami (2016), proposes record numbers: - 55 candidate studies from 23 countries worldwide - 8 judges representing 4 continents, namely: Luca Molinari (Italy), Gary Chang (China), Lesley Lokko (South Africa), Rozana Montiel (Mexico), Cherubino Gambardella (Italy), Evgeniya Murinets (Russia), Massimiliano Cecconi (Italy) ) and Matteo Spinelli (Italy). - 8 Guest Lectures - 16 training credits distributed during the two days of the event - over 600 projects open to the Open Call in June, coming from all over the world.

This year's Milan edition focuses on the best international architecture and interior design projects, selecting those that have distinguished themselves in the 2016-2018 biennium. The candidate projects will be divided into 16 categories and from this year grouped into 2 macro-categories: ARCHITECTURE and INTERIOR DESIGN. The selected studies will be present at the Milan event, to tell their project in front of the jury and a large audience of architects, interior designers and developers.

The event includes the awarding of 16 prizes (one per category) and the award of the OverAll award, which is the best project ever, which this year doubles.

Lectorintavola e Officine Tamborrino

Cosa contiene? Come è preparato?

Officine Tamborrino’s Milan Design Week

Officine Tamborrino joins Milan Design Week with a special invitation to sharing in, as expressed by its claim SHARE, through a series of events which will take place in Milan and will focus on the use of open spaces for real "sharing lifestyle" for people, instead of a virtual one based on social networking websites.

Officine Tamborrino gets back to Lambrate district at via Ventura n. 3, thanks to the cooperation with the Argentinian artist Elizabeth Aro and her project called "Amazing lightness", as she will temporarily live and work at the Shared House in Lambrate. That's another occasion for Officine Tamborrino to surprise its public during Milan Design Week, this time with a special project which goes beyond design borders to combine contemporary art, co-dividual architecture and design.

Ideally it also represents an extension of the new and visionary Shared House Lambrate, born from the cooperation between Laps Architecture, Farm Cultural Park, A14Hub and Polytechnic of Milan: a shared house which also includes capsule-like private spaces (inspired by Japanese tradition) and wide common spaces called co-dividual spaces, conceived as design outcomes aimed at encouraging meetings and common activities with an experimental approach towards new ergonomics and uses of common spaces within private spaces. As a result, Officine Tamborrino furniture items and its partners’ solutions show a new way of designing domestic spaces in reference to the growing importance of spaces for home working.

Then Officine Tamborrino will also host “Breakfast with the artist” on Wednesday April 18th at 9:30am, a special brunch event where several professionals of design and art sectors will gather around a long informal table to discuss about co-dividuality and art as pattern for design so as to inspire people with new ideas and projects.

The second location for Officine Tamborrino will be at Inhabits, located at Piazza Castello Square, with Delight the light, a project by Scaffsystem, the main company of the group, a leading producer of steel solutions for logistics and residential and industrial architecture. The media room will be set up by using Structura, our latest construction system for load-bearing metal structures to be combined with a wide range of modular and flexible framing panels for cladding. Officine Tamborrino as a technical partner will take care of the interior design of this area dedicated to professionals, by providing it with a bespoke co-working identity and an informal and young mood fit for sharing ideas and exchanges.

Finally, during Strangers Pinks event located at via Randaccio 5, Officine Tamborrino will present Grace console by Sara Mondaini, our latest design proposal focused on living spaces through pink colours. On this occasion at this amazing villa designed by Giò Ponti, Artemest and Ted Milano will celebrate all women with a whole pink installation including a series of selected products to tell about female universe with fascinating and delicate approaches.

C_LEAN WORKING. A NEW CONCEPT OF SPACE AND DESIGN

Officine Tamborrino is pleased to present C_Lean Working at Salone del Mobile 2017: a new concept of space and design focused on people and on the quality of their working time.

Clean as a symbol of simplicity, pureness and symbiotic relationship with nature.

Lean as work organization according to the management philosophy introduced in Japan during the early eighties.

C_Lean Working derives from the meeting between these two visions and conveys all the values that characterize Officine Tamborrino's search for a new space dimension, as well as for a design that meets sensibility in everyday life, without any distinction between working time and leisure time, between office contexts and home contexts.

Officine Tamborrino's stand at Salone del Mobile 2017 tells the story of a journey carried out with designers, creatives and production technicians looking for new design languages about home and office spaces, along with the objects that are part of our lives and belong to ourselves.

ADI Design Index 2016

The chair NO SMOKING by Officine Tamborrino, design Andrea Epifani, is among the selected ADI Design Index 2016, and competes officially for the next Golden Compass Award in 2018, the historic prize that signals the best designers and the best Italian design firms.

Material quality and production process characteristics have a central role in the No Smoking collection of chairs. The design is based on a system for the recycling of specially treated used paper (the mixture obtained by pulping the paper is applied to the moulds and dried naturally) which acquires considerable strength and can be used to create the chair’s structural shell. The hand crafted treatment process of the material and the variable factors related to its manufacturing make sure that every piece that is produced is different, with unique surface nuances and colour variations. In this way No Smoking is an original interpretation of the theme of sustainable production, conveying a message of ethics as well as aesthetics.

MATERIALS: CHAIR IN RECYCLED PAPER, FRAME IN METAL TUBES.

TECHNOLOGIES: PULPING OF THE PAPER AND APPLICATION OF THE RESULTING PULP ONTO MOULDS; CUTTING, BENDING AND WELDING OF THE METAL TUBES.

SUSTAINABLE PARAMETERS: A PRODUCTION CYCLE THAT WAS DEVELOPED FROM THE REWORKING OF RECYCLED PAPER FOR THE REUSING OF A HISTORICALLY TRADITIONAL MATERIAL THAT RUNS THE RISK OF DISAPPEARING FROM THE AREA. A COLLECTION OF CHAIRS AND FURNITURE THAT EXPLORES AND EXPERIMENTS WITH THE QUALITY OF PAPER USING A CRAFTSMANLIKE APPROACH, RESPECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE RHYTHMS OF NATURE DURING ITS PROCESSING.

OFFICINE TAMBORRINO presents "O" by Alessandro Guerriero

Once again Officine Tamborrino is going to play a key role at Milan Design Week, thanks to its collaboration with Alessandro Guerriero, the internationally renowned designer and artist who designed an impressive and iconic installation for the coming event.

During. 2016 edition of Milan Design Week, the ADI location at via Bramante 42 will entirely be transformed by an iconic installation produced by Officine Tamborrino and designed by Alessandro Guerriero, conceived to take visitors into a cosmic landscape which will combine technological and archaic traits.

The OT orbiter, a stunning steel structure, will also become a special setting to display "O", the exclusive 2016 collection especially designed by Guerriero for Officine Tamborrino and entirely focused on the theme of the "circle".

Alessandro Guerriero personally called this project "the Cathedral", a place where you can retrieve concentration and the faculty of thinking. At the same time it represents a poetic place where you can get lost, a psychological labyrinth where time becomes unreal and expanded thanks to its fading features.

Once again the Master breaks the rules of design and its applications by providing visitors with a journey into an oneiric awesome structure, as it turns out to be a real sensorial, metaphysical and compelling experience.

O DESIGN COLLECTION 2016
The new collection called "O" is composed of 6 pieces, entirely designed starting from the circle pattern. Every object has been conceived from the same shape and the same material steel , but then it has developed an autonomous identity, linked with its own new function which revises both outlines and architectural spaces.
As Guerriero himself explains, "We're experiencing the special territory where pure art and functionality meet".
Thanks to this new project, Officine Tamborrino is reinterpreting objects by revising their inner functions: the circle softens the living space and suggests a new motion. Some examples of this concept and of the related modularity that mark the entire collection are provided by the mirrored circles called "ECO", as they are equipped with magnets and can be placed in several positions according to customized needs and taste. Another example is given by the handles of the cupboard called "DE-SIDERIO", also equipped with magnets to increase their flexibility and modularity for use.
The same circular shape, which has always embodied perfection, gets to represent cyclical time now and, as a result, it becomes a symbol of never ending time which tends to infinity. The name "O" derives from the desire for creating continuity between

The new calendar 2016

2015 was for us a year living on the theme of the project, the real heart of our work in the last period.

“Projecting” means looking forward, over obstacles, drawing a projection that encloses the company’s values and new growth prospects.

In this calendar we tell you  two major projects of storage facilities for important clients.

We lived the yard so that it would not end with the construction, but that would put new visions and ideas.

We were in continuous dialogue with the customers which have chosen Scaff System for  the development and organization of their companies.

We lived the yard as a becoming that was not exhausted with the construction, but that would put new visions and ideas, in continuous dialogue with the customers who have chosen Scaff System for distribution key to the development and organization of their companies.

Projecting also means studying, doing research and expanding their horizons.

This was our path of brand identity developed with a broader network of collaborations and relationships.

We communicated our identity and our philosophy also through the opening of the company towards the culture and the social.

One example is the participation of Officine Tamborrino to the Milan Design Week in the spaces of Ventura Lambrate. The prestigious collaboration with Moleskine and the project "Feeding Creativity" developed together with the social Xfood restaurant.

A week of emotions  mostly thanks to disabled children which  for the first time have left their families to live this extraordinary experience.

We understood that projecting means for us to share an idea.

And finally, the inclusion of the table Volta of Officine Tamborrino to selection ADI INDEX 2015 was a event for enlarge our view.

We thank all the team and our partners, and we bring in the New Year many other projects and a great desir to do.

We wish everyone a 2016 of VALUE.

OT meets Anna Nacci and "We are the children"

OT meets Anna Nacci, musician, sociologist, counselor, radio editor and project manager,

Anna Nacci in 2014 put in place a humanitarian project that involves three steps , aimed at children , WE ARE THE CHILDREN .

WE ARE THE CHILDREN because WE are the children, because the child we have been is always alive inside us, because if we are able to look after the inner child of the past, it means that we will be able to manage better our emotional side and improve our relationships with adults and their children.

WE ARE THE CHILDREN because working with children means that we can build a better future for sure, teaching them to be welcoming, living in peace and friendship. Let's look at the childrenaround us: they don't make any discrimination about the colour of our skin, the languages we speak, our religions etc. They always find a way to communicate and play together. Often adults instill insecurity upon them, fears and prejudices. So, let's remember about the child we were and try to take care of him and show and share our love. As such: every child has the right to be loved.

The second step of the project of “WE ARE THE CHILDREN”  is addressed to the orphanages “Dream Children’s home” directed by Mrs Rachel Gichia and "Tumaini Children's Home", an orphanage for only HIV positive children directed by OSVIC, an association of Oristano. Both the orphanages are in Kenya

The project is very important because Anna Nacci and her team will demonstrate the project in several Italian primary and middle schools in order to teach the children how useful is it to play music in a project of solidarity. Furthermore school teachers will be involved asking the children to donate toys, clothes and medicines. A thank you card will be given to the donors whom will then be able to track their donations on our website

Officine Tamborrino covers the pine cone with steel: Pumò

The pine cone as a gift by Apulian craftsmanship.

Its shape recalls an opening blossom and becomes a symbol of new life, prosperity, fruitfulness and luck.In the past it was used as decoration for the balconies of Apulian aristocratic buildings.

It has become a collection item, but it's used as a furniture item very often too.

Now, thanks to the meeting with Officine Tamborrino, its traditional identity is being revised to let it become a unique object.

For the first time "Pumò" covers the pine cone with steel and expresses the dialogue between past and future, by giving a new personality to an object of Apulian tradition.

Officine Tamborrino & XFOOD join Fuorisalone Milano Design Week 14-19 April 2015

From April 14th- 19th Officine Tamborrino design and XFood social restaurant will join at Fuorisalone Milano Design Week for a special project: a unique space that will feed Lambrate area (Via Ventura, 14) with culture, gathering and social innovation.

Officine Tamborrino design brand keeps on focusing its communication on experimental moods and exchanges.

For 2014 edition, Feeding creativity concept recalled a house where art and design would meet. For this new edition, Officine Tamborrino explores the world of food by setting up an Apulian food district with XFOOD, the first Apulian social restaurant whose employees are disabled people who work at Ex-Fadda, an old wine factory which has been turned into a social and innovative lab.

Fuorisalone Milano Design Week at Via Ventura n. 14 will then host a very special project: much more than a restaurant, it will be a real social space that will feed the entire town with culture, meetings and social innovation.

Feeding creativity menu will be inspired by springtime by offering organic and tasty dishes according to Apulian tradition.

The International public of Ventura Lambrate will be welcomed by the Mediterranean mood of Feeding creativity, the temporary restaurant of XFOOD, which will propose a new way of living your break time: tasty, healthy, but most of all different.

Culture will also play an important role: mornings from April 17-19 three workshops about sustainable design will take place. Every meeting will be focused on a different subject: green, social, culture of inclusiveness for children.

Officine Tamborrino will take care of the layout and building of the entire project with its own steel structures and furniture items. Moreover, we will present for the first time to the public two brand new pieces: “6sit” by Giuliana Gatti and “Let’s Talk” by Sara Mondani, a social table composed of three elements connected by means of a bolt, as symbol of the entire Feeding Creativity project.

Sustainable and social are the key words that constitute the link between the two brands involved in this project, XFOOD and Officine Tamborrino, to set up a unique area in Ventura Lambrate for relaxing and joining public debates.

Officine Tamborrino is pleased to invite you to a meeting with Luisa Ruggio who will discuss her new novel "Teresa Manara" on 31st October 2014 at 8:00pm

A new cultural event is going to take place in Ostuni, Italy, at Officine Tamborrino’s design space.

On Friday 31st October at 8:00 pm, we will meet Luisa Ruggio, one of the most promising young female writers, who will discuss her new novel "Teresa Manara", an extraordinary fiction centred on a woman moving from Emilia region to Salento area during the Fifties, whose main aspiration is viticulture and winemaking.

In this book wine becomes a tool for development and identity making, just like modern trends on promoting local territories suggest us day by day. An outstanding example of this networking activity is provided by WineLandScape, an association of Polidesign in Milan which aims at exploring all the best “Wine stories” which can represent Italy on a National and International level.

Officine Tamborrino joined the association and believes that wine is the “best non-digital social media 2.0”, that’s why we will be hosting a little wine tasting event after the meeting, enjoying a special selection of “Teresa Manara” Chardonnay and Negramaro by Cantele.

It's free to attend, but registration at info@officinetamborrino.com is needed as spaces are limited.

Officine Tamborrino exhibits at Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk (Belgium) from October 17-26 2014

Autumn of 2014 for Officine Tamborrino has the name of Biennale Interieur.

We'll join the outstanding International Design event in Kortrijk, Belgium, from October 17-26, by displaying our concept of "circular" design, the one that feeds synergies, cooperations, exchanges which are the vital essence of our brand.

Not just steel furniture items, but expressions of a corporate philosophy that combines the creativity by Officine Tamborrino and the technical expertise by Scaff System.

This mood will be expressed starting from our booth, a sort of art installation called "Infinity" which aims at welcoming visitors within a special dimension where steel and emotion become the real keywords.

That's our new exciting goal, following the previous challenges over the last months.

Join us at facebook.com/officinetamborrino or visit us during the exhibition at stand nr. 401 Pav. n. 4 for a fulfilling design experience!

Officine Tamborrino will be part of Fuorisalone Milano Design Week

Officine Tamborrino, the new Italian exclusive brand for contemporary steel furniture items, will be part of Fuorisalone Milano Design Week from April 8-13, 2014. After the successful experience at the Milan Design Week 2013, Officine Tamborrino presents itself at Ventura Lambrate and once again with a double role: partner of the event and exhibitor there.

As technical partner of Ventura Lambrate, the company will provide all the steel structures for the general scenography of the collective exhibition Ventura Hive. Thanks to this layout, 49 emerging designers will present their works in an innovative and conceptual “beehive” set, made possible by Officine Tamborrino.

This collaboration represents an important step forward in the open minded company approach and it is the logical continuation of the path initiated in 2013, when Officine Tamborrino supported the iconic Ventura Warehouse exhibition.

As exhibitor, Officine Tamborrino is proudly presenting its own updated collection at a beautiful exhibiting area located at via Ventura 15 in Milan. A refreshing perspective on steel usage and design identity will be displayed through a series of art installations and product settings, including some of the most significant company’s pieces like the modular bookshelves, chests of drawers, tables, pole and table lamps, accessories for home and office segments such as magazine racks, bookends, hangers and the latest items designed in 2014.

Officine Tamborrino makes steel horizons richer thanks to balanced combinations between tradition and future, continuity and innovation, linearity and experimental attitudes. For 2014 a new perspective is brought in by the project “Feeding creativity”, developed in cooperation with the cultural association Presentecontinuo and enriched by the students of the Master in Strategic Design at Polidesign, Milan.

Their contributions and activities are supervised by Leftloft, a varied and international team of communication experts, in charge of the research of new trends and development of new visions on behalf of Officine Tamborrino.

Officine Tamborrino will be pleased to meet all partners and the public at its exhibiting area during the opening hours of Milan Design Week and during the following events:

"Feeding Creativity" Welcome cocktail party on April, 8 2014 at 5:30 p.m.

Week-end cocktail party on April, 11 2014 at 5:30 p.m.

All participants will have the chance to taste an exclusive selection of Apulian food and wine, kindly provided by Cantine San Marzano and GAL Alto Salento, to connect art and design with good food and Italian life style.

Free entrance is ensured!
